Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX) lies less than one hour from the city of Osaka. This means that catching a taxi to Osaka from the airport is relatively expensive, with the bus and train services offering a much more cost effective way of travelling into the city.

The centre of Osaka contains somewhat of a mixed-bag of hotels, located around 50 km / 31 miles north-east of Kansai International Airport (KIX). Many hotels in the city of Osaka are high-rise buildings, overlooking the city lights and just a short walk away from Japanese restaurants, large shopping malls and a range of nightclubs.
One of the biggest cities in western Japan, hotels in Osaka can be found in large clusters around certain neighbourhoods, which include the area on the southern side of the city's train station, in the upscale Namba district, and around the more remote Suminoe neighbourhood, located to the west of downtown Osaka and known for its views.
